Building Community

One of the things I was consistently dedicated to throughout the pandemic was getting everyone outside in the morning. It helped having a dog! During our walks, my kids and I would gather Magnolia leaves and bring our favorite ones back to the house. I’ve brought magnolia leaves into numerous art projects over the years (clay, sewing, collage), but had never tried spray paint with them. Transforming them into mini canvases with water-based spray paint and stencils is an incredibly satisfying process! Once they were dry and ready to go, we brought them back out and place them on fences, bushes, and other spots for people to discover on their walks.
